Practical Training II for International Infection Control Nursing |
From November 7 to 13, 2011, one student and four faculty members from
the advanced training course travelled to Melbourne, Australia to hold
presentations at International Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of
Infection Control and tour Australian medical facilities.

We held a briefing session on what our staff learned through participation
in the international conference and visits to the two Australian facilities.
The session focused particularly on infection control in emergency care
and research on infectious diseases.

Participant:19 participants, including 5 nurses, 6 instructors, 5 graduate
students, 2 undergraduate students and one student enrolled in a graduate
course.

wards at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Kurume University Hospital.

▶ Comparing the VIDRL with Japanese infectious disease research institutes.
• The presentation was very interesting.
• The presentation was very enjoyable.
• I felt the importance of support for foreigners in Japan.
• It was easy to understand the differences between infections in Japan and abroad.
• I was able to understand the differences in infection control in Japan and abroad, as well as the merit of Japanese infection control practices.
• I hope Kurume University Hospital will adopt effective control measures being practiced abroad.
• The report on the facilities was very informative.
